Extended Consultation Hours
You may have been eagerly awaiting Saturday, early morning and later evening opening of the surgery and we have been working with Hampshire PCT to provide extended hours for our patients.

Limited appointments are now available some evenings, early mornings and Saturday mornings to enable those who have difficulty attending during normal hours to make appointments to discuss non-emergency matters.

Please ask reception if you wish to book such an appointment. These surgeries will be covered on a rota basis, by doctors from the practice.

Reception staff will not be able to deal with any enquiries during this time.

Emergencies and emergency visits will be covered by the Out of Hours Service as at present.

The current out of hours service will continue to operate for urgent problems. Telephone lines to the practice will not be open outside our normal core opening

Wistaria Befriending Service

In 2005 in response to a request from one of the nurses 'the Friends' committee started to investigate setting up a Befriending Service to assist Wistaria patients by providing a befriender/visitor to offer a 'listening ear' to people living isolated lives, through ill-health or loss of a partner.  'Clients' are referred to us through the surgery.

We were fortunate in obtaining a grant from Hampshire County Council to help us set up this project and in the support we have received from Hampshire Voluntary Care Groups Advisory Service.

There is a great need for such a service, our ability to meet this challenge is limited only by the number of volunteers we can attract.

For more information please visit www.friendsofwistaria.org.uk or leave your details on the Befriending Answer phone: 01590 677788
